I curate European Home Collection. Everything on this site was chosen by one person, on purpose, and I'll tell you exactly how.

How this started

Five months, 760 pins, one narrow taste.

I started the @europeanhomeedit Pinterest account in March 2026 with no plan beyond collecting rooms I liked. Since then I have saved around 760 pins across 9 boards, and those boards now reach roughly 125,000 people a month.

That number is not the interesting part. The interesting part is what it took to get there: looking at an enormous quantity of European interiors and rejecting almost all of them. Nine boards sounds like breadth. In practice it is three closely-related looks — French country, French coastal, and cottagecore — examined over and over until I could tell within a second whether a room belonged.

That is the only expertise I claim. I have not tested these products in a laboratory and I will not pretend otherwise. What I have is a very narrow, very well-exercised eye for one specific aesthetic, and a reasonable idea of which inexpensive pieces read as expensive.

The Standard

How a piece earns a place here

Four tests. A find has to pass all of them.

Does the material age well?

Linen, unglazed clay, real wood, unlacquered brass. Materials that improve with handling get in. Materials that look their best on day one do not.

Would it look at home in an old house?

The test I use most. If a piece would look out of place in a building older than a century, it is probably too styled for this collection.

Is it quiet?

No visible logos, no slogans, no motifs that announce a theme. The look depends on restraint, and one loud object undoes a whole room.

Does it earn its space?

I would rather recommend four things than forty. If a piece only adds decoration and no use or texture, it does not make the edit.

What I earn, and what I don't do

This site earns money through the Amazon Associates programme. When you buy something through a link here, I receive a small commission and you pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway. Every one of those links is marked, both next to the link and at the top of every page.

Some things I deliberately don't do:

I don't show prices. Amazon's terms only permit displayed prices when they come live from Amazon's own systems, and a stale price is worse than no price. So you'll see a band — "Under $50" — and the real number on Amazon.
I don't show star ratings or review counts. Same reason: Amazon's terms don't allow it unless the data comes through their API.
I don't recommend anything I wouldn't put in my own home. The commission on a piece never decides whether it appears here.
I don't claim to have tested products I haven't. Where I'm describing how a type of piece behaves in a room, that's what I'm describing.
