Being straight with you

What I earn, and what I don't do

This site earns money through the Amazon Associates programme. When you buy something through a link here, I receive a small commission and you pay exactly the same price you would have paid anyway. Every one of those links is marked, both next to the link and at the top of every page.

Some things I deliberately don't do:

  • I don't show prices. Amazon's terms only permit displayed prices when they come live from Amazon's own systems, and a stale price is worse than no price. So you'll see a band — "Under $50" — and the real number on Amazon.
  • I don't show star ratings or review counts. Same reason: Amazon's terms don't allow it unless the data comes through their API.
  • I don't recommend anything I wouldn't put in my own home. The commission on a piece never decides whether it appears here.
  • I don't claim to have tested products I haven't. Where I'm describing how a type of piece behaves in a room, that's what I'm describing.

If something here is wrong, or a link is broken, or a product has changed since I wrote about it, I'd genuinely like to know — tell me.
